Kerala floods: Army built 35-feet long bridge to rescue people

Indian Army has built a 35-feet long bridge to rescue people stuck in floods in Kerala. Around 100 people including children and senior citizens have been rescued from Malampuzha's Valiyakada village in Kerala. As many as 67 people have lost their lives in the havoc wreaked by incessant rains in Kerala. For the first time in the history of the state, it has opened 35 of its 39 dams due to rising water levels. Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for eight districts of the state. It has predicted heavy to very heavy rains at most places in Wayanad, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasaragod, Malappuram, Palakkad, Idukki and Ernakulam Districts.
