After 17 people died in the fire at Hotel Arpit Palace in New Delhi's Karol Bagh, the police said it has transferred to Crime Branch the case in which hotel's general manager and manager has been arrested, and search is on for the owner who is on a run. "We have arrested hotel's GM and manager. Prima facie is their negligence; however, we are verifying the reports. Since the case needs specialized investigation, the case has been transferred to the Crime Branch," Mandeep Singh Randhawa, DCP, Central Delhi. On Tuesday morning, the top floor of the Karol Bagh was emitting smoke which later blown into a massive fire. Witnesses saw victims jumping from the hotel building to save themselves. The fire since then has claimed 17 lives.
