JD (U) to soon decide on the future of its alliance with BJP

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's elevation as BJP's election campaign committee chief and veteran leader LK Advani's resignation following that, is likely to take its toll on JD (U)-BJP alliance after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that the JD (U) will soon decide on the issue of continuing its alliance with the BJP. A meeting of JD-U can be called to decide the fate of the alliance any time after June 14 when Nitish Kumar will get back from his Seva Yatra. Meanwhile, reacting over the comment of a senior JD (U) leader that the BJP has given the leadership in the hands of a tainted person and JDU will not tolerate this, party president Sharad Yadav said that such comments are personal. Meanwhile, BJP vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the party has made serious efforts to ensure that the alliance gets strengthened.
