Jamaat practices violence and uses religion to gain control: Bangladesh journalist

Bangladesh journalist, Nadeem Qadir has hailed the widespread demand for the banning of the country's biggest Islamist party, Jamaat-e-Islami accused of the wartime atrocities committed during the 1971 liberation war. Qadir asserted that the Jamaat practiced violence and used religion to gain control. Qadir also opposed Hefajat-e-Islam and said that it was just an off-shoot of Jamaat with a new name and identity.
