India's Davis Cup team avoided relegation from the World Group tier-I after taking an unassailable 3-0 lead against minnows Indonesia in Bangalore. The team of Leander Paes and Sanam Singh secured the tie for the Indian team, after Somdev Devvarman and Yuki Bhambri had won their respective single ties on Friday to give India a strong 2-0 lead. Paes and Singh made easy work of Indonesia's David Agung Susant and Elbert Sie, beating them 6-2 6-1 6-4 in 90 minutes, to secure their place in the Asia Oceania Group I. Speaking to mediapersons in Bangalore, ace tennis player, Leander Paes said that the chemistry within the Indian team has been improving.
