India welcomes election of Pakistan's new PM

India has welcomed the newly-elected Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif hoping for better bilateral relations in the coming days. Meanwhile, reacting to India's stand on the 2011 militant attack in Mumbai, Salman Khurshid said that the country is looking forward to the addressing of such 'grievances' by Sharif. The results of the May 11 general elections in Pakistan saw former PM Nawaz Sharif and his Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party come back with a thumping majority, raising hopes for reconciliation with India.
