India promises strong action to rescue 26 fishermen arrested in Sri Lanka

India has promised strong action to rescue the 26 fishermen arrested by Sri Lankan Navy for trespassing into their territory. MoS, PMO, V. Narayanasamy on Sunday said they would take every possible step to secure the release of the arrested fishermen. Reacting over the incident, Communist Party of India (CPI) leader D. Raja said the Congress led UPA government has completely failed to protect the interests of the Indian fishermen.
