Foundation for two-nation theory was laid by Savarkar, not Congress: Manish Tewari to Amit Shah

Indian National Congress national spokesperson Manish Tewari on December 09 replied to Home Minister Amit Shah's remark stating Congress responsible for partition, by saying that the foundation for two-nation theory was laid in 1935 in Ahmedabad by Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in a Hindu Mahasabha session not Congress. "Today Home Minister said that Congress is responsible for partition on basis of religion. I want to make it clear that the foundation for two nation theory was laid in 1935 in Ahmedabad by Savarkar in a Hindu Mahasabha session, and not Congress," said Tewari. He was speaking on Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 in Lok Sabha.
