Foreigners celebrate Govardhan Puja in the abode of lord Krishna

Hundreds of devotees including foreign nationals visited the holy town of Mathura on October 21, to celebrate the Hindu festival, Govardhan Puja. Religious fervour gripped the land of lord Krishna as hundreds of devotees undertook the 21-km circumambulation of Govardhan hill. It is believed that Lord Krishna lifted the hill on his little finger to save villagers from the wrath of Lord Indra, Hindu god of rain. The annual festival is celebrated a day after Hindu festival of lights, Diwali.
