Dinesh Gundu Rao resigns as Karnataka Congress chief after debacle in state bypolls

Congress leader Dinesh Gundu Rao on Monday (December 09) said he has resigned from the post of Karnataka Congress president, following the defeat of the party in state by-polls. "I am taking responsibility and resigning from the post of party's Karnataka state president," Rao told reporters in Bengaluru. Out of the 15 seats gone for by-polls, the BJP is looking set to win 12 seats, even as counting of votes is still going on.
