Refuting criticisms that Moody's didn't read country's mood, Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) Secretary, Subhash Chandra Garg, on Friday said that internationally acknowledged independent agencies such as Moody's, remain unaffected by India's 'politics'. "These are internationally acknowledged independent agencies. They are not interested in the country's politics and they conduct in-depth research", he asserted. Lauding the Centre's efforts, Garg said that Moody's has just recognised the structural reforms implemented by the Indian Government. Global rating company Moody's upgraded India's sovereign rating earlier.
