Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Sep 27 (ANI): The Himalayan Adventure Sports and Tourism Promotion Association (HASPTA) organised a race for local riders in Shimla on World Tourism Day. Many young Cyclists joined the race. The passion for cycling has grown in the times of COVID-19 pandemic. Nearly 50 cyclists travelled a distance of 50 kilometres on off-road route here. This one day race for local riders has been organised around Mashobara and Kufri on World Tourism Day. With this, HASPTA also celebrated 16 years of pioneering Himalayan Mountain Biking. The president of HASTPA, Mohit Sood said this year that international race of MTB (Mountain Biking) Himalaya could not be organised due to the Covid-19 pandemic and this race has been organised to bring those people out as they were locked up in Covid-19 lockdown in the region. Cyclists apart from the physical fitness, also giving contribution in preservation of environment, Mohit Sood added.
