COVID-19: WB's Tribal facing difficulty in managing a meal

West Midnapore (West Bengal), May 26 (ANI): Tribal people in West Bengal's Junglemahal area are facing difficulty in managing a meal for a day due to coronavirus lockdown. Tribal were involved in trade of Kendu or Tendu leaves. However, because of coronavirus lockdown they are not able to sell the leaves. The Kendu or Tendu leaves is the only source of their livelihoods. Many had taken loans and overstock leaves which may get damaged soon. "We collect these leaves from the jungle and sell them but currently, markets are closed. In the coming days when the markets open I will sell the leaves. I am facing difficulty even in managing a meal," said Santa Kalandi, a tendu leaves seller. Junglemahal is a Naxal hit area of the West Midnapore district. Which have been adversely affected due to COVID19 lockdown.
