COVID-19: Mangaluru hospital starts tele-medicine services to enable patients to consult doctors

Justice KS Hegde Charitable Hospital in Karnataka's Mangaluru has started tele-medicine services using WhatsApp, to enable patients to consult doctors and get medical advice, during coronavirus lockdown. The hospital is located at Deralakatte in Mangaluru. While speaking to ANI, the Medical Superintendent of Justice KS Hegde Charitable Hospital, Dr Shivakumar Hiremath said, "This service has been started due to Coronavirus pandemic. The patients can contact their respective doctors and get advice. 300 plus patients approached our doctors through this service on March 29." There are total 80 positive cases of coronavirus in Karnataka. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of coronavirus positive cases in India rose to 1071 (including 942 active cases, 99 cured/discharged cases and 29 deaths).
