Congress and JDS have called out the new Karnataka government led by Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa for freezing civic grants worth Rs 642 crores which was allocated by previous HD Kumaraswamy-led coalition government across the state. Karnataka Congress Pradesh Committee (KPCC) president Dinesh Gundu Rao accused state BJP government of "partisan politics" said except in special cases, no new government stops work started by the previous government, adding that "all works have been stopped" by the Yeddyurappa government. Janata Dal Secular leader Ramesh Babu said Yeddyurappa is doing "vengeance politics" as the state government has recalled funds allotted to Congress and JDS constituencies for work in irrigation and rural and urban development.
