The CBI on Wednesday registered an FIR in the high-profile AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal case in which former Air Force chief SP Tyagi and 11 other persons have been named. Tyagi, who was the Indian Air Force chief from 2004 to 2007, has been charged with cheating and conspiracy by the CBI. The list of names also includes Satish Bagrodia, brother of former Union minister Santosh Bagrodia. Also today, CBI teams are carrying out searches at 12 locations in Delhi, Gurgaon and Chandigarh in connection with the case. Tyagi allegedly accepted kickbacks from AgustaWestland, which landed a deal with India worth nearly 4,000 crores in 2010.
