Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's move to conduct a massive 'Comprehensive Land survey and Settlement' in the State has come in for appreciation and will get support from the Centre. Joint Secretary of Department of Land Resources at the Centre Hukum Singh Meena, appreciating the new initiative by the Telangana government, said the integrated land survey would be a revolutionary programme that would be a role model for other states. He felt there was a need to conduct similar survey across the country The official said 25 agencies recognized by the Centre are willing to extend help to the State in conducting the survey. Meena assured that the Centre would extend all the financial and technical help to the survey when the Detailed Project Report is submitted. CM KCR explained the official that the survey would be done with village as a unit. Officials would stay in the villages and once conducted; it will be updated and recorded online. New passbooks would be given after the rectification of the records.
