Transporters of Haryana Roadways (HR) are holding a two-day strike against privatisation for an indefinite period. They said that whatever the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government had promised, it has not been able to fulfil it. BJP had promised to give jobs to one lakh people, stop privatisation but it has not done any of that. The transporters submitted applications to stop privatisation, then too the government moved towards more privatisation, they complained. They said that they are protesting against the non-fulfilment of those promises, and they are protesting not by choice, but out of sheer helplessness. They also said that their protest is not for any increment, but against privatisation.
