Assam Rifles, Indian Coast Guard sign 'Charter of Affiliation' in Shillong

Assam Rifles and Indian Coast Guard on Wednesday signed the 'Charter of Affiliation' in Shillong to use each other's assets for operational training, sports and adventure. While Assam Rifles is the oldest paramilitary force in the country and the Indian Coast Guard is the youngest armed force, both the forces guard country's borders. Assam Rifles guards the Indo-Myanmar Border, whereas Indian Coast Guard protects the coastal frontiers.
