Akshay Kumar postpones 'PadMan' release to avoid clash with 'Padmaavat'

Addressing the mediapersons in Mumbai on Friday, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar said he has postponed the release date of his forthcoming film 'PadMan' to give Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus 'Padmaavat' a solo release. He added that he wish the ace filmmaker good luck for his film, which has been stuck in a loop of controversies and roadblocks. Bhansali, who was also present at the event, expressed his gratitude to the 50-year-old actor and said since 'Padmaavat' has been facing a lot of difficulties, he requested Akshay to move the release date of his film ahead. He added that he will always be grateful to him for his humble gesture. Akshay-starrer social drama, which was earlier scheduled to hit screens on January 25, will now release on February 9. The movie will now clash with Sidharth Malhotra's 'Aiyaary' at the box office.
