Air quality continues to remain poor in Delhi

Air quality in Delhi remained in the poor category as stubble burning in the neighbouring states of Punjab and Haryana continue to take a toll on the city's atmosphere. According to the latest Air Quality Index (AQI) data, the air quality of Delhi's Lodhi Road area showed levels of prominent pollutants PM (particulate matter) 2.5 and PM 10 at 214 and 237 respectively. However, the level of prominent pollutants PM (particulate matter) 2.5 and PM 10 is lesser than it was on Monday. Despite being prohibited from burning farm residue, farmers continue to do so due to the lack of feasible alternatives, blaming industries and vehicles for being the primary source for air pollution.
