Local media reports suggested that some members of the organisation were chanting 'Hanuman Chalisa' while the rally was going past a mosque. This triggered tension and a few miscreants started pelting stones at the rally.

More than a dozen persons suffered injuries in the stone pelting incident. The cops are investigating the matter and have taken five persons involved in the incident into custody.

The police are in the process of identifying more stone pelters who were aiming at disrupting communal harmony.

Cops said that the miscreants will be arrested under the National Security Act and sent to jail.

Meanwhile, a heavy police force has been deployed in the village to maintain law and order and the situation is under control.

On December 25, too, a rally by a Hindu organisation to collect funds for the construction of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya was attacked with stones in Ujjain.
