Today the nation woke up to another sad demise of a notable senior actress Ashalata Wabgaonkar. The actress who has done some incredible films in Marathi as well as in the Bollywood industry passed away on Tuesday morning at 4.45 AM. Reportedly, the senior actress Ashalata breathed her last at a private hospital at Satara, Maharashtra. Ashalata had gone to Satara to participate in the shooting of Marathi serial 'Aai Majhi Kalubai' and there she was tested positive for Coronavirus. It is also said that COVID-19 proved fatal for her as she succumbed to the deadly virus. Wabgaonkar's last rites are to be performed at Satara.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Wabgaonkar was the only one who was said to be critical as the rest of the cast and the crew have tested positive for the deadly virus and were put under home quarantine. The tabloid further claimed that as she was in a critical condition, she was put on ventilator support in hospital, in fact, she was showing signs of recovery till September 21, 2020.
Ashalata Wabgaonkar has done more than 100 films in Marathi and Hindi. She played the role of a mother of Amitabh Bachchan in Zanjeer. The actress has in fact worked in quite a few films of Amitabh Bachchan including Namak Halal, Sharaabi, Coolie. She was also seen in the late actress Sridevi and Kamal Hasaan's Sadma, Sunny Deol starrer Ghayal, Akshay Kumar starrer Saugandh and many more.
