Venture capital investor Mahesh Murthy arrested on charges of sexual harassment
The Mumbai Police today arrested venture capital investor Mahesh Murthy for allegedly sending obscene messages to women.
The police arrested the investor after a woman entrepreneur from Delhi approached the Delhi Police. Confirming the development, the National Commission for women said that the arrest was made after its intervention following the case of the woman who approached them.
Murthy had allegedly sent derogatory and obscene messages to the woman on social media.
Incidentally, the Khar Police filed a complaint against Murthy in connection with the case on December 30. In the complaint, Murthy has been accused of 'outraging the modesty' of women. The noted investor was also booked under Information Technology Act.

Murthy is the founder of and chief executive officer of digital agency Pinstorm. He is also the managing partner of early-stage fund Seedfund.
On January 4, suburban police station in Mumbai registered a complaint of sexual harassment against Murthy. NCW had said that it had received a series of complaints from women against Murthy.
