Vegetable biryani to the rescue: Meat ban in U.P. hits Muslim mass marriage festivities

A welfare organisation in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad, which conducts mass marriages for poor Muslim people, became the prey of the ongoing meat ban in the state. Following the ban they were forced to serve vegetable biryani to their guests on Tuesday. Guests at the function were served vegetable pulao colloquially known as tahri. With Yogi Adityanath becoming the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, meat bans as well as ban on illegal slaughter houses have raised to the fore.
