Vada Chennai’s First Look Out: Handcuffed Dhanush In The Poster Leaves Us Intrigued

The film's release date has not been finalised.

After being in the making for three years, Dhanush’s much-anticipated gangster-drama, Vada Chennai’s shoot was wrapped recently. On Thursday, Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films took to Twitter to unveil the first look of its upcoming film. Yesterday, the Velaiilla Pattadhari actor too took to his micro-blogging site to share the exciting news with all his fans and as promised the first look was released today morning. Dhanush had tweeted, “#vadachennai first look will be released tom morning at 10 am. #அன்பு”

The poster features Dhanush’s character, Anbu, stepping out of the back of a police van in handcuffs with a smile on his face. The confident smile on his face catches the viewers’ attention in this first look. As he walks out of the police fan looking at Aishwarya Rajesh (female lead), the actress is also walking away from the van with a smile. I must say, Dhanush’s first look from Vada Chennai looks very interesting and intriguing, making us wonder what more does the film has to offer.

In the second poster, Anbu is seen holding on to a rope with a dagger in his mouth. The makers have not disclosed many details about Dhanush’s character and the release date of the film has not been finalised either. But we are already getting impatient for the teaser, trailer and of course, the movie. Here, check out the posters out.

Earlier, in a statement to Firstpost, Dhanush had said, “Vada Chennai is not an art-house film. It will be an ultra-commercial movie. We are shooting each part separately. We will shoot the next part after the release of the first part.” Dhanush is not only excited about his upcoming social drama, but also Rajinikanth’s Kaala, that hits the screens in April this year. The story of the film revolves around the lives of people inhabiting a village for so many years. Besides Dhanush and Aishwarya, the film also features  Ameer, Samuthirakani and Andre Jeremiah, who are playing characters named Rajan, Guna and Chandra. According to reports, Dhanush’s film will be a trilogy but the recent reports suggest that the director would take a call on a second film after seeing the response to the first.
