Vaccine drive begins in India; Delhi's Oxygen crisis deepens

India reported over 4L fresh cases yesterday, making it the only country in the world to record such a number, ever since the pandemic began. The situation in India is only getting grim. The one relief that came for the civilians was that of the third phase of the vaccination drive, which started on May 1st. While 85,000 beneficiaries were lucky to get their vaccine jabs, several states have expressed their inability to start the vaccine drive, citing the shortage of vaccine stock in the state. The vaccine drive's phase 3 has only received a symbolic start in several states. Apart from this, a tragedy was reported in Delhi's Batra Hospital wherein 12 patients along with a senior doctor succumbed to death due to lack of oxygen.
