V.K. Sasikala released from Bengaluru jail; will remain hospitalized due to COVID-19

The former All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leader and close aid of J. Jayalalithaa, V.K. Sasikala has been released from jail today. She has completed her four-year jail term in a case of corruption. However, Sasikala has been admitted to the hospital due to COVID 19. She will continue to remain in the hospital for 5 more days. Sasikala's release just ahead of the state elections is said to be important. She is getting out of jail on the same day when Jayalalithaa's memorial is being inaugurated by the Chief Minister, E.
