After UP, Uttarakhand govt launches raids at illegal slaughterhouses

Following the footsteps of Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh government, Uttarakhand government also launched crackdown on illegal slaughterhouses in the state.

Dehradun, Apr 8: Following the footsteps of Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh government, Uttarakhand government also launched crackdown on illegal slaughterhouses in the state. According to initial information, authorities in Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Uttarakhand carried out raids at illegal slaughterhouses in Dehradun on Saturday morning.

Authorities raided and reportedly shut down the slaughterhouses, who were operating without licenses in Dehradun. More details in this regard is yet to come. Similar action was taken on March 29 when three meat shops were sealed in Haridwar whereas, 11 had come under the axe in Raipur.

A number of illegal slaughterhouses have been shut across Uttar Pradesh after BJP leader Yogi Adityanath took over as the Chief Minister of the state. After UP’s crackdown on illegal abattoirs, several other BJP-ruled states clamped down on the illegal slaughterhouse.
