Eight dead bodies were recovered and several people are reportedly missing in the Uttarakhand's recent glacier burst where rescue operations are currently underway. A portion of the Nanda Devi glacier broke off in Chamoli district yesterday triggering an avalanche and a deluge in the Alaknanda river system. The sudden flood in the middle of the day in the Dhauli Ganga, Rishi Ganga and Alaknanda rivers, all intricately linked tributaries of the Ganga, resulted in widespread panic and large-scale devastation in the high mountain areas. A multi-agency rescue operation is still on in the region. Watch the full video to see the ground report from Times Now.
