Uttarakhand CM on Shahi Snan row in Haridwar; faith prevails over lives amid COVID crisis

The Uttarakhand Chief Minister continues to stoke row with his comments on the Shahi Snan that was being held in Haridwar. Despite the surge in the number of COVID cases that were being recorded from Haridwar, Uttarkhand CM Tirath Singh Rawat stated that there would have been no harm if the last Shahi Snan would have been conducted in Haridwar. The Uttarakhand CM continues to compromise India's fight against COVID-19. A curfew was put in place in Haridwar following the spike in the COVID cases, and only the essential services were to be allowed during the curfew hours. However, it looks like the imposed curfew was only on the paper, since the people continue to take the dip in the Holy Ganges.
