Uttarakhand Disaster Updates: The rescue workers are digging through a mountain of mud and slush to free people trapped under the debris of devastating flash floods in the Uttarakhand’s Chamoli. The glacier burst was the worst natural disaster in the eight years in Uttarakhand.

According to reports, the death toll mounted to 26 with over 170 people still missing. At least 1000 disaster response including military and paramilitary personnel are trying to clear out a 1.7-kilometre long tunnel in the hydro-electric power project of Tapovan.
