Uttar Pradesh: Man Bites Snake’s Head, Chews it in Revenge Attack
Lucknow, Feb 20: In a bizarre incident, a man bit off a snake’s head and chewed it before spitting it out to take revenge. The man claimed he did it because the snake had bitten him. However, the doctor could not find any bite marks on him. The incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi on Saturday.
The man, Sonelal, claimed that he was grazing his cattle when a snake bit him. “He said that he picked up the snake in anger and bit off its head and chewed it before spitting it out,” pharmacist Hitesh Kumar, who attended to him, was quoted as saying. He fell unconscious and was rushed to Moghaganj community health centre (CHC).
“His neighbours Ram Sewak and Ram Swaroop claimed that Sonelal had been bitten by a snake. So, we started looking for bite marks but could not find any,” said Hitesh. According to emergency medical officer Dr Mahendra Verma, Sonelal unconscious because of consuming the snake’s body part which could have contained venom.
Secretary, state mental health society, Dr SC Tewari said that the man’s behaviour appears abnormal. “This isn’t normal human reaction. Someone has to be extremely aggressive or deranged to behave in this way,” he told a newspaper. According to some locals, Sonelal was addicted to drugs.
