Uttar Pradesh: Criminal Who Escaped After Stealing Motorcycle Shot Dead by Police in Encounter in Sitapur; Cop Injured
Sitapur, Feb 8: The Uttar Pradesh police has shot dead a criminal who had escaped after stealing a motorcycle in Sitapur district. In the encounter, a policeman has also suffered injuries. He has been admitted to the hospital. The identity of the criminal has not been ascertained. The police have recovered the stolen bike and a gun from the criminal.
“The criminal was shot in the encounter. He was taken to the hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead,” a policeman said while speaking to Zee News.
The incident comes a few days after a two people were allegedly shot at by policemen in Sector-122 of Noida. In ‘fake encounter’ on Saturday, Jitendra Yadav was shot in the neck and Sunil had wounded his leg.

The state police on Sunday claimed that the Noida shootout was not an encounter but a case of personal enmity.
The four policemen involved in the incident have been suspended with immediate effect and the sub-inspector who fired the gunshots has been sent to jail.
