Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath meets Panchayat representatives, assures 24-hour power supply in villages

Uttar Pradesh chief minister was addressing a gathering of Panchayat representatives from across the country on National Panchayat Day in Lucknow today.

Yogi Adityanath government has decided to provide 24-hour power supply to villages that register zero power theft.

Stressing that the government is committed to providing power to all, Yogi Adityanath said that the they have come up with schemes that would provide free power connection to poor. Soon after assuming office, chief minister Adityanath had asked concerned officers to ensure planned roster of power supply by which the VIP tag on some districts under previous regime was removed and now power is being equally distributed all the districts of the state.

Chief minister also indicated that soon there will be a helpline number for complaints related to transformer failure. The government has also started a crackdown on chronic defaulters to curb the rampant practise of non- payment of electric bills.

In order to promote rational use of electricity and to ensure thefts are at bay the chief minister indicated that everyone should get electric meters installed and abstain from any power theft. Areas would be identified and once it's established that the area does not have instances of power theft electricity would be provided round the clock to such pockets.Also Read
