Unusual Surrogate Story: Grandmother Carried Baby for Son and Daughter-In-Law
Kayla Jones from Texarkana, Arkansas and her husband were eager to start a family but she knew that the only way for the couple was surrogacy to have a child. Reportedly she cannot carry her own child as she underwent a partial hysterectomy at age of 17. But she had hardly expected that the surrogate would be her own mother-in-law. Thanks to her mother in law, Patty Resecker, who volunteered to carry their baby and the couple’s dream of having biological child got fulfilled. Reportedly, many surrogacy options didn’t work out and they finalized her mother in law as a surrogate. “My ovaries did not have to be removed so I am still able to have a child biologically mine, but I am unable to carry the child myself. That’s why my husband and I had to use a surrogate.” Kayla told, as per report of LoveWhatMatters.
“My mother-in-law always joked about being our surrogate. After a couple of our surrogate options did not work out, we started to take my mother-in-law more seriously,” she added. She started researching about the same and found other cases as well where grandmothers served as surrogates. The couple and Patty did few tests to see if she was capable of carrying the child or no and the tests were positive. With the help of IVF process, Patty successfully became pregnant last year in May and after seven months Patty and Kayla and her husband welcomed a baby boy who was named as Kross Allen Jones. Just like other couples, they also had a pregnancy photoshoot as well.
Patty told LoveWhatMatters: “I’ve recently had the privilege of doing one of the most rewarding things: to carry my own grandchild for my son and daughter-in-law. This is something that has blessed not only me and my family but also Kayla’s family. A child is a lifetime commitment and I knew there weren’t two more deserving people than them. To see them with Kross and see the parents they’re already becoming thrills my soul.” To know more about this family’s unbelievable story, check out their Facebook page, Creating Baby Jones.
