United States plans to share COVID vaccine; PM Narendra Modi expresses gratitude

As COVID vaccine diplomacy takes a global turn, United States’ Vice President Kamala Harris dialled to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and it is being reported that a pact has now taken place between the United States and India with respect to sharing COVID vaccines from United States to India. Jen Psaki, White House Secretary explains the given situation and how United States will donate surplus United States vaccine supply and they are encouraging surplus supplies to do the same. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also tweeted a response to the same, he, in a tweet, mentioned that ‘We also discussed the ongoing efforts to further strengthen India-US vaccine cooperation and the potential of our partnership to contribute to post COVID global health and economic recovery’.
