Mumbai, Nov 22 (PTI) The family of slain activistGovind Pansare on Friday filed an application seeking changeof investigating officer in the case, even as the Bombay HighCourt cautioned that such requests could have a negativeimpact on the probe.
The activist was shot and injured on February 16, 2015near his house in Kolhapur in western Maharashtra, and diedfour days later.
A special investigation team (SIT) of the Maharashtrapolice's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is probingPansare's killing.
In its application, Pansare's family said it was notsatisfied with the manner in which the investigating officerwas handling the probe.
A division bench of Justices S C Dharmadhikari and R IChagla, however, noted that such an application could have anegative impact and scuttle the probe.
The probe agency's counsel Ashok Mundargi told thecourt it would file its reply to the application byDecember 19. PTI SP ARUBNM BNM
