Chhota Rajan Gets 7-Year Jail Term in Fake Passport Case

Underworld don Chhota Rajan was awarded a seven-year jail term by a Delhi court in a fake passport case on Tuesday. Rajan and three others were convicted in the case a day before.

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Special Judge Virender Kumar Goyal had held Rajan guilty of possessing a fake passport in the name of Mohan Kumar. The three other convicts, all of them passport officers, were held guilty for conniving with Rajan.

The four accused have been found guilty of offences under Sections 420 (cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 467 (forgery of valuable security or will), 419 (cheating by impersonation) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC and Section 12 (offences and penalties) of the Passport Act.
