U.P: Night curfew imposed in districts witnessing COVID-19 surge; restrictions on social gatherings

The Uttar Pradesh government announced fresh restrictions amid the sharp rise in COVID-19 cases, imposing night curfew in districts that have been witnessing a surge in coronavirus cases till April 30. Districts reporting over 100 COVID-19 cases on a daily basis or having 500 active cases qualify for night curfew from 9 pm to 6 am, according to a statement issued by the UP government. The decision was taken at the meeting chaired by the Chief Minister. The Uttar Pradesh government has also barred the entry of not more than five people in the religious places, considering the rising cases in the state.
