Two Terrorists Killed in Encounter in J&K’s Budgam District

The area has been cordoned off and and a search operation is on, said an army official.

A gunfight broke out this evening in Budgam district of central Kashmir after militants opened fire on a patrolling party of the Army. Two militants were gunned down by the security personnel.

A patrolling party of 53 Rashtriya Rifles came under fire from militants at village Hayatpora, 18 ks from here, around 6 pm, triggering a gun battle between the two sides, a police official said.

Reinforcements had been rushed to the village which was cordoned off to flush out the militants, the official added.
