India, June 3 -- Two persons were nabbed from Raj Nagar Extension area on Sunday for carrying over 500 grams of narcotics, the police said. The seized consignment is estimated to be 80% pure and worth around Rs. 1.5 crore in the international market.
The police caught Ravinder Kumar, the alleged mastermind, and his accomplice Satendra Jatav while they were carrying the consignment for delivery on their bike at Begum Pul area of Meerut.
"We are trying to track the person who was supposed to receive the consignment from the accused at Meerut. We suspect that the material came here through the Nepal border," superintendent of police Shiv Shanker Yadav said. Both the accused were booked under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act at Sihani-Gate police station in Ghaziabad.
