Dumka (Jharkhand), Apr 29 (PTI) Two Maoists, who were allegedly involved in several incidents of violence, today surrendered before the police here.
The rebels surrendered before the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Santhal Pargana) Akhilesh Kumar Jha and the Superintendent of Police Mayur Patel, second in commandant of Sashatra Seema Bal Rakesh Tiwari and other police officials.
Jha said that at the initiative of their family members, the two Maoists surrendered and were given Rs 50,000 each as per the state surrender policy.
The DIG said that they were involved in the killing of Sister Valsa in 2012 and the attack on a policy van returning after Lok Sabha poll duty in 2014 in which eight persons were killed, including five police men, and looted five Insas rifles.
