Two killed in mishap

Thanjavur (TN), Apr 2 (PTI) Two persons, including a member of a Prabhu Deva film crew, were killed and five others seriously injured when the van in which they were travelling dashed against a lorry near Kumbakonam in the district, police said.

Police said the mishap occurred last night.

A film crew had been shooting the Tamil movie ‘Yung Mung Sung’ starring Prabhu Deva, in Kumbakonam and surrounding areas for the past 15 days.

Yesterday, the shooting was scheduled at Ayyarappar temple in Thiruvaiyaru and some crew members had set out for the location in a van with breakfast.

Police said the van collided with a lorry carry blue metal at Karuppur village last night.

P Vijayakumar, the driver of the van, and Arumugam of Chennai, one of the crew members, died on the spot.

Five members of the film crew were seriously injured.

They have been admitted to the Kumbakonam government hospital, police said.PTI COR
