At the music launch of the upcoming movie Veere Di Wedding on 22 May, Kareena Kapoor Khan said that she doesn’t see herself as a feminist but believes in equality.
Her co-actors, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar, and Shikha Talsania were present at the launch along with director Shashanka Ghosh and producers Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor.
"I believe in equality. I wouldn’t say I am a feminist, I would say I am a woman and above all, I am a human being. I am also as proud to be known as Saif Ali Khan’s wife, as I am to be Kareena Kapoor. So that is just the way I am." - Kareena Kapoor Khan
Following the music launch, Twitter was buzzing with activity. Users shared their own versions of contradicting comparisons, in response to Kareena’s statement on feminism.

Lol Kareena Kapoor Khan's "I'm not a feminist, I'm a woman & I believe in equality" is exactly what's wrong in understanding the concept of feminism. It's not an anti-men, parade, bro. Chill tf out.— Samreen (@BeingFeline) May 23, 2018
Kareena Kapoor Khan is free to call or not call herself a feminist but to insinuate that feminism is not about equality is dangerous and prohibits many women from giving a word to what they intrinsically know as the truth. https://t.co/VC1lzc5qcQ— Apekshita Varshney (@ApekshitaV) May 23, 2018
Saif doesn't know what eugenics means. Kareena doesn't know what feminism means. Raam milaye Jodi hai.— कच्चा पापड़ (@lazybutterfly17) May 24, 2018
