TSRTC employees' unions to intensify stirfrom Nov 11 Hyderabad, Nov 10 (PTI) The 37-day-old indefinite strikeby the transport employees in Telangana pressing variousdemands would be intensified from November 11, the unionsannounced on Sunday.
TSRTC-Joint Action Committee leader EAshwathamaReddysaid the agitating employees would hold protests in front ofthe residences of MPs, MLCs and MLAs of the ruling TRS acrossthe state on November 11 and 12.
On November 13, they would lodge a complaint with theNational Human Rights Commission and National Commission forWomen in Delhi, over alleged repression of the employees sincethe launch of strike.
He said they would organise road blockades across thestate on November 18.
Nearly 48,000 employees of the corporation have been onan indefinite strike from October 5 across Telangana,demanding merger of RTC with the government transportdepartment, pay revision, among others.
Taking a tough stand on the strike, Chief Minister KChandrasekhar Rao had said under no circumstances would theRTC be merged with the government.
Terming the stir as 'illegal,' he had said it causedimmense inconvenience to the public.
Meanwhile, the protesting employees took out rallies atdifferent places and raised slogans against the TRSgovernment.
Condemning Saturday's police action on the employees andothers who took part in the 'Chalo Tank Bund' protest acrossthe state, he said there was no maoist participation asalleged.
'RTC workers and members of different political partiesvoluntarily took part in the agitation. There were no Maoists.
It was unfortunate and sad that such allegations were made,'he said.
He also denounced the detention and house arrest ofleaders of different political parties ahead of the 'ChaloTank Bund' protest.
The police had taken thousands of protesters intopreventive custody in the city and other parts of the stateahead of the protest march on Saturday.
According to police, TSRTC employees' unions, who weresupported by some frontal organisations of Maoists and theirfriendly organisations and opposition political parties hurledstones at the police and injured seven personnel.PTI VVK ROH ROH
