Triumph of the Atmanirbhar Bharat scheme as DAC likely to clear indigenous Rs 2000 crore project

Some breaking updates coming in tells us that the Defence Acquisition Council or DAC is likely to clear an indigenous Rs 2000 crore project that will enhance India's air-defence. The Akashteer system, manufactured by Bharat Electronics, is likely to be cleared in tomorrow's meeting of the DAC, headed by defence minister Rajnath Singh and including the three chiefs and the chief of defence staff, General Bipin Rawat. Other indigenous weaponry to be cleared for purchase include sights for the Army's light machine gun, valued at Rs 600 crore and modular bridges for the sappers, valued at Rs 2500 crore.
