Tripura CM announces Rs 579 crore special package for poor hit by pandemic

Khumulwng (West Tripura), May 28 (ANI): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on May 27 announced a financial package of Rs 579 crore for poor families to overcome the ongoing COVID-19 crisis in the state. CM Deb said that Rs 332 crore shall be disbursed among the rural people under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme. He also laid the foundation stone of 150 LPM oxygen generation plant at Kherengbar CHC (community health centre) in Khumulwng, headquarters of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) in presence of Chief Executive Member (CEM) Purna Chandra Jamatia.
