Priyanka Gandhi junks Yogi Adityanath's 2-year report card, says no progress on ground in Uttar Pradesh
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said the state has become a better place and crime has gone down since his government came to power. Yogi Adityanath was speaking at a press conference at the state BJP headquarters on the completion of two years of his government.
"We will present a report card of the work done by our government," he said.
However, Congress general secretary UP (East) Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, Report card, promotions, all of it sounds good but there's nothing on ground, I'm meeting people every day, all the people are in distress.

Yogi Adityanath said that after independence, the Congress was in power in the state for the most time but the state didn't see progress.
He said, "Nothing was done for the poor, farmers and youth. Youth were migrating. Unfortunately since 1990, SP-BSP governments in UP spread anarchy. Murders, rape and crime against women were on the rise. Corruption and scams were also big issues. "
"Whether it is illegal mining scam or corruption in job vacancies. It's because of the anti-farmers policy, our farmers were committing suicide. Nothing was done to clear the sugarcane farmer dues. The NGT [National Green Tribunal] had given notices to the previous governments for illegal mining," he added.
"In the past two years, we have transformed Uttar Pradesh. This is the same Uttar Pradesh where riots used to take place," Yogi Adityanath said.
The CM said people belonging to the Hindu community and traders had migrated from Kairana and they were being forced to sell their properties in the previous government.
"From Kairana and Kangla Hindus in large numbers were forced to migrate. Now they are back and the atmosphere is peaceful. In 2012, 227 incidents of riots took place. Hundreds of incidents of riots happened from 2013-16 as well. Many innocent lives were lost," he said.
Apart from lauding his government, Yogi Adityanath also showered praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying, "We all are thankful to the prime minister for inspiring and guiding us. It is because of him that we are able to change the perception of Uttar Pradesh."
