On Thursday, the leaders of the Kisan unions demanding the repeal of the three new farm laws and the procurement of crops at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) carried out a 'tractor march' from four separate locations, from Singhu to Tikri Border, Tikri to Kundli, Ghazipur to Palwal and Rewasan to Palwal, as the protest of the farmers camping at the borders of Delhi entered on the 4th day.
Farmers' unions camping at three sites near Delhi, however, have insisted on a full reversal of the new farm laws, although the government has said it is prepared to negotiate amendments to the current legislation. The tractor march on Thursday is being touted by the demonstrators as a 'trailer' of a much larger march scheduled for Republic Day.
A tractor march to the capital is expected to take place as the farmers' strike arrives on the 43rd day. On the outskirts of Delhi, traffic is likely to be disrupted. This comes a day before the union government is expected to hold their next round of talks with the farmers union.
